We sold the house - stage 1 is complete and the first question on everyone's lips (after how much, if you don't mind me asking) is what was it like to work with Zelinde.
If you are not from the Riverdale and East York neighbourhoods you may not have heard of Zelinde - if you are from here and don't know who she is you have clearly been living under a rock. Zelinde is a very successful agent in the area who has been selling homes for over 27 years. She is good at what she does - so when she asks you to paint something, add something, take something away my advice is you listen.
Our home was listed Wednesday and sold within the week. It sold for the top range of what she predicted and we are happy it took such a short amount of time. Our home was transformed and the lasting effects - a basement renovation we can actually use are great.
What did we learn from the process and Zelinde - take a look:
- Clean out as much of your own stuff as you can (see it as a jump on the packing process).
- Complete all those little unfinished jobs.
- Be patient. It's hard to live in a staged home but it doesn't last forever (it still felt like it did).
- Do what you can but don't make your self sick in the process (delay the listing a week if you need to or in our case offers a day so I could get over my strep throat).
- Nothing is perfect. Everyone's homes are full of living and for a few weeks this might be less true - but you are no different in general than most people.
- What looks good in pictures is not always what you see with the naked eye. I defer to Zelinde whole heartedly on this one - our home looked amazing in the shots her team took.
- No question is silly - she answered them all for us. Trust me we had a lot as first time sellers.
So would we recommend using her - I think I can safely answer for us both and say YES. Zelinde was a great agent, honest and she sold our house in the way she demonstrated she would - her team equally reflected her experience and professionalism.
